PWA (Progressive Web App)
A Progressive Web App (PWA) is a website or web application enriched with native-like capabilities: installable on the home screen, partial offline support via service workers, sometimes push notifications. It runs in the browser but behaves more like an app.
A PWA is a solid option when you want a mobile presence without the cost of two native apps (iOS + Android), for example a field business tool or a customer portal. It shares the same codebase as the desktop web. For advanced hardware needs or a store-first presence, native or cross-platform (React Native) is often a better fit.
Promising « a native app » via a PWA disappoints if users expect app stores, deep Face ID, or heavy graphics performance. iOS also imposes limits (notifications, storage). Scope early what the PWA must truly cover, and measure installed usage versus plain browser traffic.
