In short

What is E2E testing with Playwright?

Playwright is Microsoft's end-to-end testing framework. It automates browsers (Chromium, Firefox, WebKit) with a modern API, robust selectors and a trace mode for debugging. Playwright automated tests simulate real user journeys and catch regressions before they ever reach production.

The tech

Why we use Playwright

01

Native cross-browser

The same E2E test runs on Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Cross-browser compatibility validated on every CI run.

02

Robust selectors

Selection by ARIA role, label, text: the automated tests don't break when the CSS changes.

03

Auto-wait & retry

Playwright automatically waits for elements to be visible and interactive. No more sleeps and flaky tests.

04

Trace viewer

A full recording (screenshots, network, console) of every test. Debugging a failing E2E test takes minutes.

For you

What Playwright changes for your business

Playwright automated tests to deploy with confidence and protect your critical journeys.

01

No regressions in production

The critical journeys (payment, login, core features) are verified on every deployment by the E2E tests.

02

Confidence during refactors

You change the interface without fear of breaking an invisible user flow.

03

Fast & stable tests

Playwright is 2 to 5x faster than Cypress and produces fewer false positives. CI doesn't slow the team down.

04

Living documentation of the journeys

Playwright tests describe exactly how to use your application. The best possible spec.

We start by identifying the 5 to 10 most critical user journeys (login, checkout, business actions), write the tests with stable ARIA selectors, integrate them into CI on every PR, then increase coverage gradually. Expect one to two weeks for a solid foundation.

Playwright is faster, supports more browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and handles multi-tab better. Cypress has a more beginner-friendly interface. For automated testing on modern applications, we recommend Playwright on new projects.

With the right selectors (ARIA, roles, labels) and the native auto-wait, Playwright automated tests are very stable. We avoid CSS selectors that break at the first refactor.

Playwright tests simulated mobile browsers (mobile viewport). To test real native mobile apps, we use Detox or Maestro.

Yes. We set up auth fixtures that reuse sessions across tests for fast E2E suites with no repetition.
