Next.js
Next.js is a React-based framework that adds file-based routing, server-side rendering (SSR), static generation (SSG), Server Components, and many optimizations (images, fonts, bundling). It lets teams build modern websites and web apps without assembling all the plumbing around React themselves.
It has become the default choice for many teams for a SaaS front end, a marketing site, or a full-stack TypeScript app. You can mix ultra-fast marketing pages and authenticated app areas in the same project. We use it regularly when SEO performance, developer experience, and the React ecosystem are major criteria.
Next.js moves fast: patterns from two years ago (pages router, getServerSideProps everywhere) are not always best anymore. Another pitfall: going fully client-side « because it's simpler » and losing server-rendering benefits. You also need to master the server/client boundary so you don't leak secrets or bloat the bundle.
