NestJS
NestJS is a Node.js backend framework that enforces a clear architecture (modules, controllers, services, dependency injection) to build REST APIs, GraphQL, or microservices. It is TypeScript-first and borrows conventions close to Angular, which helps backends scale in complexity.
It's a common choice for a SaaS or business app whose backend must stay readable as the team grows. NestJS modules let you split domain by domain (billing, auth, notifications) without falling back into spaghetti. At Fragments Studio, it's one of the backend foundations we use when full-stack TypeScript and maintainable structure are priorities.
NestJS alone doesn't eliminate technical debt: used poorly, you get anemic services and catch-all modules. Also avoid over-abstracting on day one (CQRS, event sourcing) for an MVP. The framework helps if the team respects module boundaries and responsibilities; otherwise Nest complexity stacks on business complexity with little benefit.
